During the latter part of our visit, I participated in a kayak excursion on Lake Arenal. Unfortunately, I got badly sun-burned on my lower legs while on the lake. A couple of days later, we were staying in Playa Hermosa. The pain from my sunburn had gotten pretty bad by that point, so we decided to contact Hermosa Urgent Care for advice. Dr. Maria Jose-Campos and a nurse from Hermosa Urgent Care came out to our hotel later that day to assess my condition. They cleaned and treated the burns and properly dressed my lower legs. The doctor provided advice for how to handle the injury over the next few days and when to expect to see improvement in the swelling around my ankles, which made walking difficult.The treatment gave me some peace of mind and made flying home a couple of days later a bit more comfortable. Many thanks to Dr. Campos and the nurse for their efficient and professional care. I would highly recommend the staff at Hermosa Urgent Care if you run into an unforeseen medical event while traveling in Playa Hermosa.

Prescription given for pills which were filled at the pharmacy next door.  We had to go to the urgent care in Hermosa first and they sent us to Playa Del Coco hospital.
